About Nightmare World
The material here attempts to look at the so-called “war on terror” and current world events in a broader context. My aim is not so much to prove particular theories about exactly what happened as to make some suggestions about the overall meaning and direction of events.
One of the odder phenomena of sleep and dreaming is the so-called “false awakening”. When you experience a false awakening, something like the following happens. You wake up (or seem to), in your usual room and bed, but everything feels wrong. You sense an ominous and strange atmosphere around you, amounting to a nameless horror. You become increasingly disturbed, and then, with a start, you really wake up: the first awakening was part of your dream.
For the last five years many of us have been having a slightly similar experience. We woke up in the second year of the new century, and found that we had awakened into a nightmare. The difference is that this is all real -- it is not a false awakening. Unfortunately we are not going to wake up and find that it was all a dream.
We are living through a nightmare.
The “new rulers of the world” (as John Pilger has called them) or “thugs in suits” (Kurt Nimmo's phrase) have launched a war which, in their own words “will not end in our lifetimes”.
This war was initiated through deception, lies and fraud.
It has been accompanied by the use of torture, kidnapping, imprisonment without trial, secret prisons, and the creation of a universal atmosphere of fear and division.
It is a war which breaks and destroys nations.
It is a war for resources.
It is a war against humanity.
At a time when pressure on resources is becoming intense, it is an attempt by the world's most powerful nation to adopt a strategy of “last man standing”, trying to control as much of the world's wealth as possible and deny it to others.
There is a terrible danger that the next stage in this war may involve the first use of nuclear weapons since 1945.
Nightmare World is a place where I shall be posting some longer pieces of writing about these matters.
